every listing

Every piece is one of one. Its listing names the stone and where it’s from, its weight, its size and its treatment, and shows the front and the back.

where it’s from

We only purchase mine direct or from dealers. Every listing names its origin: the mine, or the region or country. If we don’t know it, the listing says unknown.

treatment and backing

Most turquoise is treated to make it strong enough to cut and wear. We always say how. We avoid enhanced, dyed and reconstituted pieces.

Natural

No treatment known to us or our source.

Stabilized

Hardened with a clear resin. No dye.

Backed

A thin backing makes a cabochon strong enough to set. We list it, and show the back.

weight, size, photos

Weighed and measured here, by us: grams, carats for turquoise (5 carats to the gram), and length × width × depth: millimeters for cabochons and jewelry stones, centimeters (and inches) for specimens. Photographed front and back, and close up. No filters, and the color is never changed.
