A bright sky blue, clear and deep, cut as a long pear. Golden-brown matrix gathers in a soft cloud across the wide end and breaks into fine rust webbing toward the tip and along the edges, with paler blue drifting between like breath on glass. The dome rises smoothly and holds a high, wet polish that the light slides across. The back is a flat black backing, sanded clean.
Lone Mountain turquoise, from Esmeralda County, Nevada. Worked since 1920, the mine is known for both a clear blue and a fine dark blue spiderweb, and its turquoise is among the most highly desired from Nevada.
High-grade turquoise, stabilized and backed. It is ready for a silversmith to set.
Its long, quiet line would hang well as a pendant.
