A clear, bright robin's egg blue with a breath of green, even and unclouded across the whole oval. Rust-brown matrix gathers toward one end in a loose, open web of large cells, then thins to scattered flecks and a single dark island near the other end, leaving wide fields of clean blue. The polish is glassy over a gentle dome. The back is a smooth brown backing.
Lone Mountain turquoise, from Esmeralda County, Nevada. Worked since 1920, the mine is known for both a clear blue and a fine dark blue spiderweb, and its turquoise is among the most highly desired from Nevada.
Standard-high grade, stabilized, and backed. It's ready for a silversmith to set.
Its size and soft dome would sit well in a pendant or a bolo.
