A clear robin's-egg blue, even and bright from edge to edge, with pale cream flecks drifting across the upper half, a few of them holding a pinpoint of dark host rock. A small seam of golden-tan matrix touches the lower right edge. The polish is high and glassy over a medium dome, and the oval is full and generous. Underneath, a smooth brown backing.
Lone Mountain turquoise, from Esmeralda County, Nevada. Worked since 1920, the mine is known for both a clear blue and a fine dark blue spiderweb, and its turquoise is among the most highly desired from Nevada.
High grade, stabilized and backed; ready for a silversmith to set.
Its size and easy dome would sit well in a pendant or a bold ring.
